Eden Academy is currently hosting workshops and summer programs as we prepare to open our school in Fall 2027. We are partnering with donors and grants to provide scholarships and tuition assistance options for families as needed.

Eden Academy was created to provide affordable, high-quality, Christian education to families and instill a joy for learning as well as develop children as critical and creative thinkers in a rapidly changing world.
Eden Academy uses projects, inquiry, research, discussion, and field trips as regular practices to provide hands-on learning, develop questioning, and stimulate problem solving.
As our world is gradually implementing use of artificial intelligence and removing job opportunities that were once human dominated, children need an education that prepares them for the future more than ever. By providing a foundational education that emphasizes innovation, logic, creative thought, and evaluation, children can grow into adults who will thrive as they contribute to society and find meaningful careers.
Eden Academy will help increase literacy and numeracy in the children we serve as well as provide unique learning opportunities that public schools cannot offer. We will use research-based principles of learning and child development to implement appropriate teaching practices and rhythms within our school to create a welcoming, and joyful learning environment.

Eden Academy’s founder, Marisa Mitchell, has a passion for reviving the joy of learning and creative thought within children. Marisa has worked in education and served with low income children and specializes in trauma informed teaching, and on-going learning on child brain development. After serving in both public and charter schools and witnessing the challenges facing her students and the lack of appropriate resources and training for teachers to best teach and prepare students for the future, Marisa sought to create Eden Academy.

Eden Academy has plans to open the school in the fall of 2027 and serve primarily students from low-income households. We are developing our business plan and partnering with donors to provide scholarships and tuition assistance for students.

As Eden Academy grows and increases donation and grants, we hope to open several more small schools in different areas of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area and provide our model of education to more students. We will train individuals who can run and manage each site, and ensure proper support and coaching for the teachers we employ.
Who We Are
Inquiry-Based, Hands-On Learning
Eden Academy uses an inquiry-based learning approach. Children learn as they dive into research and develop projects to answer questions and explore a topic or theme. We emphasize small class sizes and small group teaching for math and reading so students can learn at their own pace, as well as field trips for authentic opportunities of hands on learning.
Mixed-Age Classrooms That Build Leadership and Community
Eden Academy’s classrooms are mixed-age groups, encouraging community within our school as students can learn from one another and grow as leaders working together to support each other. This builds confidence, compassion, and a sense of unity.
Christ-Centered Education and Daily Discipleship
Students will engage in Biblical teaching throughout their day and have multiple opportunities to connect what their learning to Christian truths, the Gospel, and character and nature of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We also prioritize opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus in practical ways, through community service projects.
Accessible Tuition and Financial Support Options
Eden Academy offers a sliding-scale tuition to ensure affordability for families. The Oklahoma Child Tax Credit allows more families access to our school, and scholarships from generous donors also support our efforts to provide affordable education.
